Packaging
The unit comes in a nice, large package with the series name printed onto the center of its face in large font. Right below it is the PSU's capacity in smaller font, and on the bottom is a list with the unit's most crucial features in three different languages.
A description of the PSU's features in French and Polish.
be quiet! was kind enough to provide us with a scheme describing the length of all cables on this side, along with a description of all available connectors.
The rear of the box is covered in another picture of the PSU. It highlights three important features: the SilentWings fan, the PSU's COOL OFF mode, and its fully modular cabling design. Below the aforementioned picture is the power specifications table, and under it, we find several awards be quiet! products earned on various review sites, TPU's included. The right side is covered in a brief, multilingual introduction describing the concept behind the Power Zone series.
Contents
Common to all Power Zone units, you will first notice the user's manual after opening the box. Under it lies the PSU, inside a nice black bag protecting it. Next to the PSU are two carton boxes that store all of its accessories.
The bundle includes a set of fixing bolts, all necessary modular cables, several zip ties, and four Velcro straps.
Exterior
Like all be quiet! products, the PSU features a nice and unique look and top construction quality. A nice plastic cover enhances the classic honeycomb grill's look on the front, and the small on/off switch is installed next to the AC receptacle on the same side. Power Zone decals can be found on both sides of the unit, while the fully modular panel with its many sockets is installed into the rear. We also found three sockets for case fans—the fans you connect to these sockets will be thermally controlled by the PSU itself.
It looks great, and while it is larger than normal, installing it into a normal ATX chassis won't be a problem. Its nicely designed fan grill, be quiet!'s trademark, looks incredibly. be quiet! products really look unique, which users and modders that want all of their system components to not only be reliable but look nice will appreciate.
All modular cables are fully sleeved in sleeving of good quality; however, none are flat and stealth. The current trend demands for both ribboned and black cables, so we think be quiet! should do just that with such an expensive PSU.
The cables are more rigid than we would like them to be, so you may have problems routing them inside your case. This problem of rigidity could be avoided with flat cables. All fan cables are long enough, but should, in our opinion, only use black wires to blend in nicely with an all-black case interior.
