ASUS is present at the show in form of a small booth, at which they are only showing a few new parts and notebooks. The first interesting tidbit is a PCIe x1 card which can deliver full 1080p. This should go well with VGA based onboard graphic cards of HTPC systems. They also have a 512MB and a 1GB based GeForce 8800GT with custom cooling on display. Booth use identical coolers.


Another UMPC is also at the booth. The R50A UMPC uses an Intel Silverthorne processor and Poulsbo chipset. Besides the 1GB memory, and 5.6 inch touch screen, it also sports an integrated GPS unit, as well as Bluetooth and WiFi. The well known eeePC is also being showcased in its various colors. The previously announced eeePC accessory pack can also be viewed. This consists of an extra battery, headphones, a Skype phone, an external enclosure for storage and a mouse.


Some of you may remember the 19" LCD which survived a direct shot from a crossbow on YouTube, this monitor can also be inspected at the booth. Another first is the USB soundcard, which also doubles as a large volume knob. The front features microphone and headphone jacks.


This is the smallest Core 2 Duo barebone, called the Nova P22. It is a fully featured PC with speakers. So you could take it anywhere in your home and simply plug it into any LCD monitor or TV. The rear holds four USB ports, a DVI port, as well as network and audio.


You will also find a few interesting Asus mainboards at the show. The first is an nForce 780i board, called P5N-T Deluxe, with the additional chip to the left side of the chipset. Next to that you will find the Maximus Extreme, which is an X38 based board. The Striker II Extreme continues ASUS' Striker series lineup with the nForce 780i chipset as well. The last board all the way to the right is a X48 based board, called Rampage Extreme. It features 2x PCIe 2.0 x16, 3x PCIe x1, 2x PCI and supports them Intel Core 2 Duo/Extreme/Quad 45nm as well.
