Introduction

Established in 1995, Colorful is a computer hardware manufacturer based in China. Recognized mainly as a company that only makes graphics cards. Colorful is actually a worldwide company and offers a wide array of products for different regions. From the company's early years as a motherboard and graphics card manufacturer, it later expanded outward, distributing products as an OEM. In 2023 Colorful now sells SSDs, System Memory, All-in-One Computers, laptops, and the aforementioned motherboards and graphic cards.

Colorful currently offers multiple memory products, with consumer and enterprise lines to fit a wide range of customer needs. Taking the established DDR4 CVN brand, Colorful brings the CVN series to DDR5. This product line is currently only available with RGB and in Southeast Asia. Configurations include 16 GB (2x 8 GB), with frequencies currently ranging from 4800 MT/s to 6600 MT/s.


In this review, we will be taking a closer look at the Colorful CVN ICICLE DDR5-6600 memory kit marketed primary towards gamers. This kit has modest primary timings of 34-44-44-108 operating at 1.40 V for the main 6600 MT/s X.M.P profile. As such, it provides higher bandwidth and considerable performance gains compared to baseline JEDEC 4800 MT/s DDR5 with a CAS latency of 40 operating at 1.1 V. Today, we will benchmark this Colorful CVN ICICLE DDR5 32 GB kit and see how it stacks up to the competition, along with some overclocking as well!
