Introduction
Even though we have plenty to choose from with modern motherboards, the old timers out there will no doubt remember the days when there were far more mainstream motherboard manufacturers than there are today. Competition is always a good thing for consumers, so we're delighted to take a look at the Colorful iGame B860M Ultra V20, not least of all because it leaves you with plenty of change from $200 if you're looking to build an Intel Core Ultra system. In fact, it costs just $165.
We're also giving microATX some love too, which has been lacking from our review lineup for a long time, but with cases such as the Lian Li A3-mATX and ASUS Prime AP201 proving very popular, and with microATX often offering better bang for your buck than Mini-ITX, there are a few reasons to consider the Colorful iGame B860M Ultra V20 beyond price.
At first glance it's not a board devoid of cooling or features either. It's attractive, uses a silvery-white color scheme and has large heatsinks cooling the power delivery and all of its M.2 ports, including one with PCIe Gen 5 support. While the B860 chipset means there's no overclocking support, the decent cooling here should mean it can cope with high-end Core Ultra processors. We'll be putting it through our usual tests to see how it stacks up against boards from better-known manufacturers.
