Introduction

Established in 1995, Colorful is a computer hardware manufacturer based in China. Recognized mainly as a company that makes graphics cards. Colorful is actually a worldwide company offering a wide array of products for different regions. From the company's early years as a motherboard and graphics card manufacturer, to later expanding outward, distributing products as an OEM. In 2023 Colorful now sells SSDs, System Memory, All-in-One Computers, laptops, and the aforementioned motherboards and graphic cards.

Colorful currently offers multiple memory products, with consumer and enterprise lines to fit a wide range of customer needs. Colorful continues to build out the company's DRAM portfolio by taking the established iGame DDR4 series and giving it the DDR5 treatment. With that, we have been given a special opportunity to review the Colorful iGame Loong Edition, which is a celebration for the Year of the Loong (Dragon).


In this review, we will be taking a closer look at the Colorful iGame Loong Edition DDR5-7200 memory kit, marketed mainly towards gamers. The Colorful iGame Loong Edition is available in multiple size configurations (16GBx2, 24GBx2) with currently two different frequency options as well (6800 MT/s, 7200 MT/s). Using PC enthusiast primary timings of 32-44-44-115 at 1.45 V for its 7200 XMP profile, this memory kit may not be breaking any world records, but it is still a great choice for Intel Z790 based motherboards paired with 13th / 14th Generation Processors due to the high "PC enthusiast" frequency XMP profile.
