The Cooler Master Masterbox NR600 is not meant to push the envelope with unique features. Instead, it aims to offer a good price tag with a good material mix and all the must-have features of a modern mass market mid-tower enclosure. While the metal mesh front may not tickle everyone's fancy, Cooler Master has made it fine enough to act as a pretty useful dust filter on its own, and the solid stripe down the side does give it that little extra such a case needs.
As it is also geared towards system integrators, Cooler Master has made sure to minimize its own branding with just the power button and a small stamp on the side of the chassis hinting at who actually manufactured the NR600.
The case receives brownie points for the partial glass side panel and all-metal shroud, which we really liked in cases from other brands as well. On top of that, the interior of the Masterbox NR600 is functional without being compromising, offering you plenty of air and liquid-cooling potential, hard-drive storage space, and GPU expandability. While things are a tad tight around the PSU bay, the NR600 should allow for a wide array of configurations, once again playing to the system integrators out there.
At $70, the case is priced as expected, but we may see it retail for a few bucks less still. That said, anyone building a mid-range system who doesn't mind the metal mesh front or maybe even loves the fact that it is a big air vent should be quite happy when assembling their system. Overall, the Cooler Master Masterbox NR600 is not here to blow your socks of as it instead aims to offer form and function at a reasonable price.
