Out of the box, the MasterBox TD300 Mesh looks very much like the larger TD500 Mesh in terms of design, with a bulky front panel. As the name implies, the uniquely shaped metal mesh front provides another visual layer and airflow to the built-in fans.

In the front, the mesh is symmetrical, and you can clearly see the two 120 mm fans behind it, which are revealed completely by pulling the cover off with a firm tug. The I/O panel is completely separate, so there is no risk of tearing something off when doing so. In the rear, the chassis looks quite traditional with the PSU bay on the bottom and horizontal expansion slots.

Just like the MB311L ARGB, the MasterBox TD300 Mesh uses a pair of thumb screws to secure the glass panel. I have no idea why Cooler Master did not simply hold on to the clean setup of the NR400 instead of back-peddling to this more basic approach. On the opposite side, a solid metal cover is held in place by a pair of thumb screws.

The PSU bay in the rear comes with two sets of mounting holes and is otherwise pretty standard. Above that are the four expansion slots. Unlike the MB311L, Cooler Master offers a compromise with two removable and two break-out covers. While this is a nice touch, it would have been nice to have all of them removable just like on the NR400. In the very top is a spot for a 120 mm exhaust fan, so the total number of included cooling units remains two—exactly what we would expect.

In the top, you may install a 240 or 280 mm radiator, or respectively sized fans. In addition to this, Cooler Master includes a magnetic dust filter to cover this area up and protect the interior from dust. The I/O of the MasterBox TD300 Mesh is actually quite basic. You will find two USB 3.0 ports, but instead of the combo audio jack we were presented with in the NR400, there are two separate connectors. One change to the MB311L is that each port now has far more visible white labels.

The underside of the MasterBox TD300 Mesh is equipped with a basic metal mesh dust filter for the PSU intake vent.
