Closer Examination

135mm long, 83.6mm wide, and 40mm tall, the Sentinel III is a very large mouse. It's designed for a right-handed palm grip and fits me perfectly; however, people with smaller hands might find its size to be a problem.

The mouse lights up at the front and on top. The front's lighting doesn't show on dark surfaces very well; however, it does work well on lighter surfaces.

Look at it head on and you will clearly see five of the Sentinel's seven buttons and its clickable scroll wheel.

While plain, the back of the mouse shows how its shape caters to the right-handed crowd.

On its right are two solid thumb buttons, but its left side is completely empty.

The Sentinel III's sensor has been placed pretty far toward the front. In the base of the palm rest is the weight compartment's door.

Opening the weight compartment isn't a nice experience as it is held shut by a very stiff plastic latch only a lot of force will release. Once you're in, you'll have access to five positions for the 4.5g weights Cooler Master included with the mouse.

The Sentinel III's braided cable is 1.8m long and of normal thickness. The braiding itself took very little damage in my 90° sharp-edge test.
