Ripple Measurements

In the following table, you will see the ripple levels that we measured on the main rails of the AX1200i. According to the ATX specification, the limits are 120 mV (+12V) and 50 mV (5V, 3.3V, and 5VSB).

Ripple suppression is totally out of this world! During full load and at 50°C the +12V rail registered only 7.3 mV of ripple while both minor rails stayed below 10 mV. Only the 5VSB exceeded the aforementioned mark but still was under 15 mV. So far this is the only high capacity PSU, among the numerous we have tested, that manages to achieve such low ripple at all cases. Corsair should be proud of their new flagship PSU since it delivers, besides tight voltage regulation and high efficiency, the cleanest DC outputs we have ever seen thanks to the digital power control it features.

Ripple at Full Load

In the following oscilloscope screenshots, you can see the AC ripple and noise that the main rails registered (+12V, 5V, 3.3V, and 5VSB). The bigger the fluctuations on the oscilloscope's screen, the bigger the ripple/noise. For all measurements, we set 0.01 V/Div (each vertical division/box equals to 0.01 V) as standard.
