Packaging

The packaging of this new Corsair iCUE 5000D RGB Airflow variant has also changed considerably. The front simply holds a giant Corsair logo and mentions the model name, while the rear no longer has a blow up diagram of the case. On one side there is a simple table for specifications and a sticker to let you know which version you are getting, while the opposite is completely void of any extra details. All that is a bit weird, as Corsair technically could have reused the original box and just simply tweaked a few things.

Two thick foam spacers hold the full-tower case in place, and a plastic bag covers the chassis, protecting it from fingerprints and scratches during packing at the factory.

Contents

You will receive an assorted set of black screws and 12 high-quality, Corsair-branded Velcro zip ties with the case. The original 5000D Airflow shipped with an angled USB 3.0 header connector, but Corsair did away with that and is instead relying on a flat-band IO cable to allow you to connect the lead to the motherboard. For the interior of the chassis, there is a plastic cover for installing thick liquid-cooling setups in the front instead of the pre-installed shroud. Corsair no longer includes a beefy, multi-lingual paper manual. Instead you will have to download the digital version on your phone.
