The shape of the Katar Elite Wireless is quite clearly a take on the popular "egg" shape. The egg shape is defined by being widest in the middle and getting thinner towards both the front and back. While this general criterion applies to the Katar Elite Wireless, there are some key differences. First, the base has almost the same width along its entire length, whereas the top is wider in the middle, but narrower towards the back and front. As a result, the sides are significantly slanted, even more than on the Logitech G203, for instance. Unlike on the G203, the sides don't bulge outwards, however. Additionally, the hump is very flat horizontally and more towards the back instead of centered. Overall, what we end up with is this silhouette: \__/. It took me a while to get used to this shape as the slant on the sides is extreme to where the difference in width between the base and top may end up becoming uncomfortable.
As for grip styles, I'd say the Katar Elite Wireless is mostly suited for claw or fingertip grip. The Katar Elite Wireless is a small to medium-sized mouse and should thus fit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Katar Elite Wireless fairly comfortable in claw grip.
Dimensions
This table includes the dimensions of the Katar Elite Wireless and several right-handed as well as ambidextrous mice. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler.
