A Closer Look

Once everything is assembled, the Corsair Platform 6 Elevate makes an excellent general impression. While it is rather bulky, the cable management means your work space will look immaculate from all directions. it took a few zip ties and the use of the dual-monitor arms cable management systems to achieve the right cable routing. Thanks to the gentle cutouts, wiring can easily flow in behind the edge of the desk into the cable tray. The legs of the desk extend out the back a tad, which means you can push the table right up against your baseboards and still have just enough breathing room as well. To really make things look clean, Corsair provides a cable wrap, which you may cut to size and use as well. Corsair has embossed their logo in the bottom right corner, which is a nice idea. However, the thin stain gets damaged in the process, exposing some bare wood unfortunately.

The controller provided with the Platform 6 Elevate is nice and compact. It includes a bright, easily legible display and rubberized buttons which feel great to use. The lowest the desk will go is 74 cm (29"). This is fine in general, but once you add the 1" for for the table top itself, it is on the high side. At the highest, it manages 122 cm (48"). You may store up to two settings - usually a sit and stand position. That is fine, but many higher-end desks provide four memory settings which would then make the desk useful if two people were to want to use it.

The embedded tray comes equipped with a USB-A as well as a USB-C charging port. This terminates on the underside of the tray with a classic USB-C connector, meaning you could even plug this into your PC and benefit from data on top of charging. The tray is lined with foam and has a removable divider to keep your trinkets organized. Thanks to the three openings in the cover, you can feed wires into the compartment easily as well. The only gripe here is the lack of magnets so any wire bulging will easily push the cover up.

Lastly, the angled power strip for the table top is an excellent way to plug in your electronic devices that you may want to take on the road from time to time. In this case a notebook. The angle makes plugging things in really easy and also provides enough clearance for larger charging blocks to have the space needed, even if you mount the strip unto your desk with the clamp as shown.
