A Closer Look
The Corsair Vengeance LPX sticks, for all their incredible speed, use a stealthy black aluminium heat spreader with a traditional profile.
The Corsair Vengeance LPX 5000 MHz sticks are available only in black despite the red stick on the packaging, which is not a surprising move for an exclusive low volume product.
"CORSAIR" is printed on top of each heat spreader in white lettering, framed just above the Vengeance logo.
The specifications on the Corsair Vengeance LPX are a 5000 MHz XMP profile at 18-26-26-46 timings and 1.5 V, a first for a production memory kit. The amount of binning and proofing Corsair goes through to make these kits reliable must be immense.
"VENGEANCE LPX" features in yellow and white lettering on the front of each stick, providing the only hint of color outside of the Vengeance Airflow cooling device.
The Corsair Vengeance LPX sticks are single-sided and feature an 8-layer PCB.
The markings on the ICs seem to be Corsair specific, although Thaiphoon shows that these are Micron chips.
I like to weigh a stick from each kit I get as the difference in mass can be pretty drastic between kits. Mass is not the best indicator of cooling efficiency because material can matter, and of course, heat dissipation is reliant on surface area, not volume or mass. That said, it is still interesting to compare.
The Corsair Vengeance LPX comes in at 36.92 g on my scale. For height, the Corsair Vengeance LPX comes in at just over 34.25 mm with my calipers, well below the average 45–50 mm range.
