Initial Setup

Installing this memory into the test systems allows us to get a better idea of what it may look like while up and running. Without any RGB integrated lighting, the Corsair memory doesn't stand out. This isn't a particularly bad thing either for those who want the minimal amount of lighting effects inside the computer case. When it comes to overclocking, a motherboard designed for such activities like the ASUS Z790 Maximus APEX (shown in photos) is preferred, but not always required depending on the targeted MT goal.

Enabling XMP Profile

The Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5600 memory kit had no stability issues during the testing phase. However, because this is a non-binary memory kit, for the entire available memory to be recognized, the motherboard BIOS will need to be updated. Using this memory kit on a non-supported system resulted in a Windows BSOD or the wrong amount of available memory listed. While I did not encounter a non-boot scenario, it is possible that some motherboards will not boot without updating the BIOS first. Before purchasing, make sure to check the manufacturer website for the newest motherboard BIOS with 24 GB DIMM support.

Officially, XMP memory profiles are designed Intel platforms only, but motherboard manufacturers have supported reading these profiles on the AMD platform for years at this point. While EXPO memory profiles are preferred for AMD systems, Intel XMP memory profiles will work as well. Though, it should be noted that regardless of the memory profile, the AMD Ryzen 7000 processor internal memory controller (IMC) is much more limited compared to Intel and lands anywhere from 5600-6400 MT/s. This will of course depend on the processor, motherboard and voltages required for a specific frequency. Those not seeking exotic overclocks will not have issues with this memory kit, assuming the motherboard BIOS supports 24 / 48 GB DIMMs.
