Corsair Voyager a1600 Gaming Laptop Review - With AMD Advantage

Apps and More

These days Corsair is a big company with sister companies that serve different functions within the tech market place, such as Elgato. This relationship made it easy for Corsair to incorporate parts of what Elgato's software and hardware have, and made it all together a main feature of the Voyager a1600. The physical shape of the Voyager a1600 in its most basic form has been adjusted to fit in the Elgato framework, that includes not only the S-Key buttons, but also the webcam and the quad-mic array at the top edge of the screen. All that hardware and the software behind it are most definitely focused on those of us that stream. The "S-Keys" seem like the major thing here, but there is really much more to the Voyager a1600 and its capability for streaming.

The Voyager a1600 does have some custom Corsair software of course, starting with the "Corsair Diagnostics" applet and the "Voyager Hub" software, both for exploring whats going on with the Voyager a1600. The diagnostics software provides a peek at the hardware in real-time, and provides some testing capabilities too, while the Voyager Hub serves as a great place to learn how to make the most out of the Voyager and its streaming capabilities.

iCue serves as the hardware-to-software interface that lets you adjust things like the hardware lighting and the fan/performance profiles, as well as some functions for the "S-Keys."

I also found the Dolby Access applet installed, but that's a bit more useful for headphone users than those that use the physical speakers found on either side of the keyboard deck.
