Packaging and Contents
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to see what Corsair has been up to with the Voyager a1600, and that excitement was met with some pretty incredible packaging that Corsair has engineered. The all-black box that carries the Voyager a1600 inside has a truly high-quality feel to it, and it's panels on the front and the back display the Voyager a1600 well. Sitting on a store shelf this box has a presence that many strive to acheive with their product packaging, and provides this svelte laptop with a presence that its price and capability truly deserve.
The box features several layers, with the Voyager a1600 up top, clad in protective plastic. lifting out the tray that holds the Voyager a1600 reveals a carrying case below, which also helps keep the Voyager a1600 safe till it gets in your hands, and after.
Removing the case reveals some simple paper stuff and a cleaning cloth (Thanks, Corsair!), and then removing some bits reveals the power adapter.
Here's a list of everything I found in the box with the Corsair Voyager a1600:
- Laptop in protective plastic
- Warranty card and quick start guide
- Carrying Case
- Battery charger and cable
The provided adapter has been designed by FSP, and carries a 230 W rating. It outputs a 19.5 V supply with a maximum amperage rating of 11.8 A.
The carrying case provided in the box provides a decent option for those that decide to take the Corsair Voyager a1600 on the go. It fits the Voyager a1600 snugly, while providing a decently textured surface to grip while at the same time helping keep the metal exterior scratch-free. I would have liked to have seen a simple handle attached, but was happy to find an accessory pocket for the adapter and cabling. The inclusion of the sleeve was a nice unexpected addition, but for true portability, you'll still need some sort of backpack or similar bag.
