When coming up with the SXFI Trio, Creative was apparently very aware of the fact that if you want to sell wired headphones in 2021, you had better make them great. That's exactly what they did by equipping the SXFI Trio with three speaker drivers per ear piece, which are controlled and driven by a powerful mobile DAC/headphone amp. To sweeten the deal even further, they also added Super X-Fi headphone holography support, which is essentially a powerful sound virtualization system. After you personalize it for your own ears, it can deliver some seriously impressive surround sound in movies and games with higher-quality sound engines.

Nothing was left to chance in terms of build quality or wearing comfort, either. With six supplied pairs of ear tips, all of them in different sizes, it's very easy to achieve an ideal seal and a comfortable fit. I was able to wear these headphones for many hours at a time without ever having an urge to yank them out and take a break from listening to them.

They also offer a good-sounding in-line MEMS microphone, as well as an intuitive and responsive set of controls placed on the in-line SXFI Wire module, which is a shrunk-down version of the $150 SXFI Amp with all of its specifications and features intact. They sound great and respond well to equalization if you want to tune them to your liking by using the equalizer built into the SXFI App.

A fairly noisy Kevlar cable and lack of an official IPX rating prevent me from recommending them for sport activities, but for anything else—music listening, movie watching or desktop/mobile gaming—these headphones are great. The $140/€130 price tag is fairly hefty, but you do get a great pair of in-ear headphones with an additional feature no other wired in-ear headphones offer—namely, the Super X-Fi headphone holography technology. Let's not forget about the fact that they also come with the SXFI Wire module, a more compact version of the SXFI Amp, which is a $150 device on its own.
