Crucial Ballistix MOD Utility

One unique aspect of the new Ballistix line-up are the temperature sensors within the modules. Crucial is well known for incorporating LED lighting into their kits in the past to differenciate the brand from all the other manufacturers out there. Turns out this M.O.D Utility displays a lot more than just the temperature. There are five menu items, with the first being general information about the SPD of the installed modules. Next up you have the afore mentioned temperature read-out, with the ability to write the data gathered into a log file for later viewing. This may be interesting for memory overclockers - especially those with "extreme" overclocking in mind. The third menu point actually only works if you have the right type of Crucial memory installed, as this allows you to control the LED on such modules.

While the "Settings" tab may lead you to believe that some sort of reprogramming of the memory is possible, this menu item pertains to the settings of the application itself and what to do if the memory were to overheat. Lastly, the about tab only gives you some info to the application itself and also holds a simple link for easy updating of the software.

You may also enable a little widget, which shows you the temperature of both modules while running other programs, so that you can always keep an eye on it during your benchmarking process.
