A Closer Look

Out of the box, the CTECHi ST2000 is massive and heavy. This is not the type of unit you can grab single-handedly unless you like to lift massive weights in the gym for fun or just ate spinach. The unit clocks in at 29.6 kg, which is a little more than the 28.5 kg CTECHi advertises in its specifications.

From a general layout perspective, the CTECHi ST2000 stays true to what we tend to see from all major players in the market. The front sports all the I/O, while the rear has a light and the primary charging connectivity.

Both sides of the ST2000 are vented so that the two heavy-duty fans inside can pull air across the battery cells and internal electronics to keep things cool under pressure. One may argue that it would be good for the vents to be less restrictive, but as these products are meant to be used in an outdoor setting, structural integrity somewhat outweighs potentially lower noise output.

On top are two steel-reinforced, rubberized handles with plenty of clearance to grab them even if you are wearing gloves. While the center of the top cover may remind you of a Qi charging pad, the ST2000 unfortunately does not offer wireless charging. Massive rubber pads on the underside ensure the unit stays in place nicely and no vibrations are passed on to the surroundings.

On the main side, you will find the 12 V cigarette lighter-style DC output to the left of the main display. Unlike some units, like the Bluetti AC200P, the CTECHi ST2000 sticks to a simple display similar to those found on Jackery products. While this may not give you that level of detail, it also means the unit instantly turns on and is ready for use. Next to that are four AC outlets, which provide 1800 W of pure sine output. This is also slightly different from some of the other 2 kWh options out there. For example, the Bluetti AC200P maxes out at 2000 W for AC, and the Jackery Explorer 2000 even mentions 2200 W.

The CTECHi opts for less oomph when it comes to the AC outlets because of its remaining power delivery options. These consist of four DC outputs, which is more than other brands, and a full array of eight USB ports—two USB-C, four USB-A QC 3.0, and two general USB-A 2.4 A. Owing to the many plugs, the need to carry around USB chargers is reduced greatly as well. Lastly, there is the standard XT60 secondary power input. CTECHi allows for simultaneous charging with both the primary and secondary ports, so you can push up to 1700 W of power into the ST2000, reducing the already excellent 2-hour charge time to a mere 1.5 hours.

In the rear is the primary power plug with an easily removable 20 A fuse and a dedicated grounding port as an added safety layer. A wide LED light panel with its own dedicated on/off switch is to the left of it.
