DeepCool CF120 Plus 3-Pack ARGB Fans

Packaging and Contents

In addition to the cooler, we were also sent a 3-pack of the DeepCool CF120 Plus ARGB fans. They still come packaged in the company's old box and branding with an image of the fan on front and all the necessary details on the back.

With triple-packs, brands usually also include a fan and ARGB controller. DeepCool does so as well, but moved the ARGB and fan functionality across two devices. The ARGB controller allows you to control it with the included button and SATA power, or connect it to the standard motherboard header, all akin to the CG560 setup. For the fans, there is a 5-port PWM splitter along with three sets of mounting screws. A simple manual walks you through the various setup options.

A Closer Look

The CF 120 fans sport fairly bulky frames as there are embedded LEDs as well. That in turn means the blades are slightly shorter than one would expect for a 120 mm fan.

Each corner of the fans is lined in rubber as an anti-vibration measure. The blades have a bit of ribbing meant to improve performance, at least according to DeepCool. You can also see a total of four rings on the fans–all of these are lit by ARGB LEDs.

Each of the fans comes with a PWM connector alongside DeepCool's proprietary ARGB plug. This is the same connector as in the CG560, so we will connect the 5-port ARGB splitter to the case PCB to run all six fans and use the case button to control them.
