Dream Machines DM7 Switch Duo Review

Packaging

Aside from the mouse, one finds a USB Type-C to Type-A charging cable, wireless extender, wireless dongle, and quick start guide in the box.

Weight

My scale shows around 76 g (+/- 1 g), which is almost exactly in line with the weight cited by Dream Machines. In a sea of wireless mice that managed to achieve a weight of under 70 g even without externally visible holes, the DM7 Switch Duo isn't quite up to par. That said, those mice typically don't have the ability to hot-swap switches. Still, while not particularly heavy, the DM7 Switch Duo isn't particularly light, either.

Cable

The DM7 Switch Duo comes with a paracord-like, braided charging cable (USB Type-A to Type-C). There is no anchor at the mouse-end of the cable, but given how tight the connector sits, the cable coming loose is very unlikely. In terms of flexibility, the cable of the DM7 Switch Duo is at least flexible enough to be used while charging without feeling overly impaired. The cable is 1.80 m long and has a ferrite bead attached.

The charging cable also functions as an extension cable if used in conjunction with the wireless extender. The wireless extender can be used to keep the distance between dongle and mouse as short as possible. A storage compartment for the dongle is found on the underside of the mouse.

Feet

The feet on the DM7 Switch Duo are regular black-dyed PTFE (Teflon) feet. Thickness is average and glide decent.

DreamPad Rough Control

Along with the DM7 Switch Duo, Dream Machines presents the DreamPad Rough Control. As the name already suggests, the DreamPad leans towards a control surface. In order to prevent a logo from interfering with any mousing activities, only a small label is present on the DreamPad. At a size of 400 mm x 450 mm and a thickness of 4 mm, the all-black DreamPad also comes with stitched edges, and is available for just $6.99.
