A quick online search for gaming chairs has DXRacer's name make an appearance quite often. This does not come as a surprise, though, since DXRacer has now been in the chair market for more than fifteen years. With such expertise, DXRacer is one of the key brands when it comes to the manufacture of gaming chair. The Racing Pro R131 is the first gaming chair I have reviewed from the company, and to be frank, the build quality has left me quite impressed. That well-known bucket seat design is what this chair series adopted as its own. The chair is reinforced with a steel frame, and the cushioning is just about right for almost anyone. The PU upholstery cover very much resembles the touch of suede, and with its red and black color combination, the Racing Pro R131 seems to an ideal choice for gaming spots, especially where space is a commodity due its narrow dimensions.

DXRacer claims that this series can hold a user with a weight of up to 115 kg (254 lb); however, the dimensions of the Racing Pro R131-NR and its contoured edges on both the backrest and seat's base make for a rather restrictive sitting area for even the three users weighting less than 80 kg (176.36 lb) who have tried this chair out. Additionally, the distance between both armrests is pretty short, and I found it hard to adjust. On the other hand, the caster wheels seem to almost glide on a wooden floor. The backrest's recline could also afford to be more than 135 degrees since I have come across gaming chairs that go way beyond that. Both tilt and height adjustment mechanisms were, however, smooth, which made using this chair a lot easier since those are the adjustment possibilities we mostly use with a chair.

The Racing Pro R131-NR comes in six different secondary color options; purple, orange, green, blue, white, and red, which is the color of my sample. The primary color for all options is black. All color combinations cost the same. I would at some point like to review a chair from another DXRacer series with wider dimensions and a somewhat different design. In a nutshell, the Racing Pro R131-NR is a well-fabricated gaming chair, but I, and this is the main point I am trying to get across here, find it hard to imagine that a user weighting 115 kg (254 lb) could sit in it comfortably.
