A look Inside
Taking the system apart serves no purpose since there are no upgrades that can be done. The system is entirely self-contained with it following the logic of what you see is what you get. However, I took it apart anyway by removing the four corner screws on the bottom. What we do find here is the Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174A wireless adapter and a closer look at the micro SD card slot.
Next, after unhooking all the various antenna and fan wires, we are able to extract the mainboard, which is made up of two interconnected PCBs. Having flipped it over, you can see the CPU and the two Kingston LPDDR4 modules.
Finally, we undid the four screws to take a closer look at the absolutely tiny heatsink and fan. The transfer of heat is handled via thermal pads while active cooling is provided by a Sunon MagLev fan. When the system is on, you cannot hear the fan at all, which makes it appear passively cooled unless you tear it all apart.
