Once you have taken the time to get used to the Num Pad on the left and the squeezed together arrow key column, the Reduced Reach Right Handed keyboard from Evoluent does a very good job at keeping your hands and arms close-by and in line with your shoulders, which will pay off a lot over time - especially if you type on a full-size keyboard and use a mouse often. I also appreciated the shortcut keys, which were time savers over and over again.
That said, there are things that can definitely be improved upon. The mixed tactile feedback is not a good thing here, although given you have to bottom out for actuation anyway, it is not as big a con as it could have been. The keycaps are not a long-lasting solution, and the one-year warranty does not exude confidence either. Build quality is not the best I have seen, but the keyboard's low-profile nature and price point end up being a limiting factor.
Given the choice between this and the other scissor switch keyboard reviewed so far, I would personally go with the Evoluent offering every single time. Compare it to the rest of the keyboard market, however, and things get tougher. At $54.95, Evoluent has done enough to interest customers with this rarely seen layout, and the positive impressions in the testing period confirm its good value for the money, especially for those looking at reduced-reach keyboards in the ~$50 price range.
