Introduction

Formovie Logo

I would like to thank Formovie for supplying the sample.

The Formovie Cinema Edge 4K UST manages to combine laser projection for a bright picture, with Google TV which includes native support for Netflix and other streaming services. It may look like a similar device from other brands, because Formovie is actually an OEM. That said the Cinema Edge 4K UST has plenty of bigger and smaller differences that go beyond just the operating system. So it makes sense to have a review of the Formovie Cinema Edge 4K UST Laser Projector to find out how it stacks up to the competition.

Packaging

The Formovie Cinema Edge 4K ships in a brown cardboard box with the Formovie branding and a single sticker letting you know the specific model inside.

Formovie manufactures projectors for a variety of brands, including Fengmi and Xiaomi. As such, you will see products with the same housing but their respective branding and considerably different internals at retail. Inside the brown cardboard box is the more retail-focused box with a carrying handle and more branding around the projector's functions and features. Inside the brown cardboard box, there is another with more general details as well as another sticker at the top next to the plastic carrying handle.

Unboxing the Cinema Edge 4K is quite the nice experience, with the manuals in the center of the foam insert and the projector sitting neatly inside the package. Both the power and remote have their own cutouts as well.
