Installation

Installing the FSP MP7 is a fairly simple process thanks to the mounting hardware design. On AMD the first step is to remove the plastic mounting clips from the motherboard. Then put the screws into the mounting brackets and slide them through the red plastic spacers before attaching them to the motherboard backplate. Once complete apply thermal paste which in this case was Arctic MX6.

Position the heatsink on the CPU and using the long provided screwdriver tighten it down onto the mounting brackets. Make sure to alternate between the two screws for even pressure. Once the heatsink is secure it's time to attach the fans and route the cables. Technically the cooler can be installed with the fans already attached, but I found it easier to line everything up with them removed.

Overall, the installation is pretty straightforward on AMD and Intel, with no major hurdles to speak of.
