Packaging and Accessories
I suppose a white keyboard having a white product box makes sense as GamaKay goes for a thick two-piece cardboard box that has the brand logo on the front and nothing else—this allows them to re-use the same top piece for other keyboards, should they so desire. On the back is a simplified render of this exact keyboard with specifications, features, and contact information for the brand listed below. Opening the box shows a single thick plastic clamshell that holds all the items including a product manual (
online copy available here) laid on top of the keyboard and well worth going through to better understand all the pre-programmed functions and customization options. The keyboard has a hard plastic cover on top and is placed inside a wax paper wrap for added dust protection whereas the remaining accessories are found underneath.
We get a pretty fancy and thick cable that has premium looking and feeling metal connector housings on either end—the exact cable that shipped with the
Epomaker RT100 indicating these were chosen from what the common OEM had to offer—as well as a combination metal wire keycap puller and switch remover tool which also seems familiar enough. Both look and feel nice though and should do the job plenty fine. GamaKay also provides a set of four replacement 1u keycaps which already give a hint towards the logic applied for the design of the stock keycaps, but more on that on the next page.
