GamerStorm Baronkase Liquid Review

Assembly

As the liquid-cooling unit is built in, you need to prep your motherboard and attach the pump and cooling block to it before placing the whole unit inside the chassis. This is generally done by removing the plate holding the white block in place, prepping your motherboard, and then placing it on top.

With the board in place, it becomes apparent how compact the Baronkase Liquid actually is. With its lack of external drive bays and the unique mounting possibility for the ATX PSU, it really just boils down to the height of the board, which is great! That said, there is a little room on the bottom to get to connectors, but it is a tight fit towards the right edge as there is virtually no room left.

Adding an SSD is easily achieved as well by simply taking the tray of your choice, screwing the drive down, and then putting the whole contraption back to where you got it from. We chose the most prominent location to show off our ADATA SSD.

Installing a traditional 3.5" drive is essentially the same amount of work as you just pull out one of the two trays, place the drive on it, and secure it in place with the provided screws. Once installed, you can easily put the filled tray back in place and make sure it stays there by screwing down the thumb screw.

Installing a power supply inside the chassis is a bit tricky as you do not have a lot of room to work with. GamerStorm makes it easier by providing a bracket which you attach to the PSU first. You then have to secure it to the ceiling of the chassis. However, to reach the mounting holes, you will have to remove the handle. Once in place, there is plenty of space for longer PSUs as long as you don't need the room for GPUs instead.

With everything in place, the GamerStorm Baronkase Liquid makes an excellent impression. The interior is nice and clean, while all the cable mess is contained behind the solid panel towards the front of the case. Even though there is only 20 mm of room behind the motherboard tray, there is no real need for more because of the location of the power supply.

Finished Looks

Once turned on, you will notice that the flow indicator lights up in the same color as the GamerStorm logo along the top edge of the chassis. This is a nice touch to keep everything in sync.

You may toggle through the colors by pressing the tiny button at the Baronkase Liquid's top-left edge. Besides white, there are five additional distinct colors, and the usual breathing or rainbow modes.

Looking into the side panel, the chassis looks really nice with all the built-in elements lighting up in the same color, including the one built into the AIO cooler's pump.
