GIGABYTE 3D Galaxy II Review

Value and Conclusion

  • The GIGABYTE Galaxy 3D II sells for about 160 USD.
  • Good system compatibility
  • Quiet (when fan is regulated)
  • Ease of installation
  • 1/2" tubing
  • Very inclusive kit
  • Low water level warning/shutoff
  • Performance could be better
  • Valves are only 1/4" output for accessories
The GIGABYTE 3D Galaxy II water kit is a very good, all-inclusive kit. It has everything needed to get you water cooling for your PC. The installation of the kit is fairly straightforward, with a great installation guide to make sure it gets installed correctly. GIGABYTE's valve system gives the ability to upgrade very easily and doesn't require draining the loop. On the performance side of things however, the 3D Galaxy II doesn't do as well as it does when it comes to features and user friendliness. I honestly thought the system was going to do better than it did in performance. I even double checked my installation and retested, but ended up with the same results. Now the performance isn't bad at all, but when compared to some high-end air coolers, well it kind of seems limp. Overall however, the 3D Galaxy II is great water kit, and would be a great place to start for someone looking to get into water cooling, but wants more than a pre-built system and doesn't want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on one.
