Gigabyte FLY Headphones Review

Introduction

Gigabyte just launched their FLY headphones. This pair is the company's first venture into the world of headphones. The FLY is an ambitious attempt at taking a chunk of the booming on-ear portable headphone market, and Gigabyte has definitely committed a great deal of time to their design. Priced at $49, these drop into a highly competitive market all big headphone manufacturers pay a lot of attention to. Gigabyte definitely came up with an original attempt at taking a real bite out of the market: The FLYs feature an extremely light-weight design and a brand-new type of headband. Styling means a lot in this price segment, and with its sleek looks, the FLYs might just get a lot attention.

The Package

Gigabyte's FLY headphones come in a pretty ordinary box. The headphones are also very well protected in there.

One of the things to usually wear out on a set of portable headphones is the cable assembly. Gigabyte went with a very beefy setup for the FLYs. It is a bit stiff and the mini jack is huge, but not annoyingly so. The Y-split is quite slim but seems rugged enough for daily abuse.
