Once we completed our CPU test suite, I had to take a break and travel across the country by plane, allowing some time for the results I had already seen to sink in. When I returned home after a couple of days, I was extremely eager to restart testing, and quite possibly qualify the Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 as my new favorite. Let's take a look at what numbers the board provided in gaming.
3DMark11
3DMark11 again proved that this board really is sleek and fast, as the new color scheme hints to. Like previous tests, the P67 platform really proves its worth in comparison to the previous generation P55 products, and even here the Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 came out on top, proving some serious BIOS engineering took place, and really paid off, too.
Civilization 5
Our first real-world 3D performance test comes in the form of Civilization V, using the included benchmark. We let the game recommend us settings, and then disabled V-SYNC and AA to eliminate bottlenecks introduced by the GPU itself. Once again, the Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 finished the test lap at the top of the pack, however, for the first time, the numbers are very close, showing the P55 platform still has some life left in it.
F1 2010
Our second real-world 3D performance test comes from CodeMasters, in the form of the "F1 2010" included benchmark. We let the game recommend us settings, which included 8xAA with our newly added HD 6950 2 GB from Sapphire. At this point, we knew the Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 was going to come out on top, and it did not fail us.
With the CPU and 3D performance compares out of the way, we decided to take a closer look at the other features offered by the Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3, to see if our new #1 board kept the theme, WINNING!!! Hit the next page to see how it panned out.
