Audio Testing

The Gigabyte Z690 AORUS Master separates the audio section with traces to isolate it from electrical noise created by nearby components. This is standard practice for manufacturers who care about quality on-board audio support. Without isolation of the audio components, unintentional electrical noise can be introduced into the audio line, creating unwanted hissing and static sounds.

The board uses a Realtek ALC1220-VB codec, which was top of the line for Realtek before it moved to the ALC4000 series. This is not to say the ALC1220-VB codec is inferior per say, it just isn't the newest available codec. Gigabyte also paired it with an ESS ES9118 DAC for its audio-output.
