ID-Cooling IS-60 EVO ARGB Review

Finished Looks

The top-flow design allows the white fan blades to stand out quite prominently on the test bench. A black fan would likely have it blend in more, but since this cooler is an ARGB model, it will stand out regardless of whether the LEDs are on or off.

While memory clearance was perfect, you can see that the cooler does extend down slightly. While our test system's primary PCIe slot is one expansion-slot spacing away, which leaves enough clearance, the cooler may not fit in certain situations. This is highly dependent on the motherboard and graphics card, among other factors. Another aspect to keep in mind may be taller M.2 PCIe SSD heatsinks. Thankfully, the cooler can be rotated, but you may encounter clearance issues with motherboard VRMs or memory, so always double check.

When it comes to lighting, the IS-60 EVO ARGB isn't going to wow you. Only the fan makes use of ARGB lighting, and while it does add visual flair, the fact is LED lighting has hit critical mass, which makes the ID-Cooling implementation average. That doesn't mean it's bad or unsatisfactory; it just means what you see is what you get, and that's an ARGB fan. The colors were relatively sharp, but I did notice a few situations where the colors were not uniform. However, that appears to be via the software and not the fan. Using a generic controller, I noticed no particular issues.
