The GD case is made of both steel and plastic. In Win have chosen to make the front door out of a heavy duty plastic, giving it a very solid and high quality feel.

As mentioned, the front is made of a high quality plastic. There are also six small window holes which light up with blue illumination (when the case is powered on). There has been nothing special done to the rear of the case, which isn’t really a problem as in most cases, the rear won’t be seen very often.

The side panels are not extremely detailed. On the left side of the chassis there is a portion of plastic that protrudes from the side panel. This plastic has the same solid feel as the plastic on the front. In the middle of this feature there is a mesh grill with “In Win” written in the middle. Behind this mesh is where the vent (or an optional fan) sits. There are no other features on this side, other than the I/O panel. The other side of the case is black painted steel, with no special features or designs.

The front door opens from the left hand side. There is only one cable which runs from the front door into the case and this is used to power the front LED lights. Four mesh vents are featured on the front, giving the case a nicer look. There are two hinges which allow the door to open and close. These hinges have been painted black to match the rest of the front - a nice touch.

There are no surprises when the door is opened. You will find four covers for external 5.25” drives and two external covers for external 3.5” drives. The power button isn’t large but isn’t small either, while the reset button is small and resides just below it.

The I/O panel has a Firewire port, four USB 2.0 ports as well as a microphone and headphone jack. The panel is located on the side of the case.

There is nothing special about the top of the case. It would have been nice to see an exhaust fan up here, but that isn’t necessary.

Taking a closer look at the rear of the GD, starting at the bottom, there are your standard motherboard expansion slots. As you can see, there are no covers. The covers have been placed within the accessories package as showed earlier in this review. Moving higher, you can see the 120mm fan slot as well as motherboard I/O tray. Towards the top of the rear of the chassis is where the power supply sits. There are also two holes here to fit watercooling tubes through.
