The new series has increased the TDP, but the new C-states can throttle power consumption to less than 1 watt in sleep mode, which is why many PSU vendors put together a list of compatible PSUs.

These new C-states may be disabled by default, but that does not make a processor consuming less than 1 watt in sleep mode something to overlook.

Another interesting aspect is the box, which Intel changed after two years. I do not like the new box, but that is not that important as I am only interested in its contents.
