As we already stated in the prologue, this unit is 80 PLUS Platinum certified and utilizes a fully modular cable design. Its protection features include all but the necessary OTP (Over Temperature Protection), which is a great shame, especially in a unit with such a high capacity. In the cooling section, we have a 135 mm fan with a couple ball-bearings, so it will last for quite a while. There is unfortunately no semi-passive mode, which could significantly lower the PSU's noise under light and moderate loads. The dimensions of the KL-C1200PL are normal considering its capacity, while the provided warranty is satisfactory at five years.

There is a single powerful +12V rail. The maximum combined power of the minor rails is enough for any modern system, but the 5VSB rail could be stronger, though it is confined to 3 A with most high-end PSUs. As you will see later in this review, the 5VSB rail can deliver much more if needed.

A great number of PCIe connectors are provided. However, some of you might want more than eight SATA connectors with such a strong unit. There are enough 4-pin Molex connectors for every usage scenario as modern PSUs are usually equipped with less than eight of these. Finally, cable length is adequate, and the same applies to the distance between connectors.
Since this PSU features a single +12V rail, we do not have anything to comment on when it comes to its power distribution.
