KRK Systems' attention to detail is nice, and these speakers are simply great for a set of entry level studio monitors. They can still hold their own if you are interested in playing games and listening to music. The quality of the KRK Systems Rokit 5 far exceeds that of any set of speakers directly tailored around the PC market, which does unfortunately mean that they are quite costly compared to their "made for PC use" counterparts. The big question is: are they worth it to a person with an interest in music who does, perhaps, edit his or her own recordings every once in a while? The answer is a BIG yes. Even if you throw a bit of gaming into the mix, the Rokit 5s are still a good investment, but be weary - these speakers are not girlfriend or wife friendly. The design definitely best suits a man cave or a studio; they are big blocks of black and yellow, which means you notice them a couple of kilometers away, even in a fog.

Compared to the PC-sets, these speakers lack some basic functionality, like front volume control, headphone out, and so on. You could buy a control box, but that would make this solution even more expensive.
