LAMZU Thorn Review

Introduction

LAMZU Logo

LAMZU is a peripherals company based in China. After the ambidextrous Atlantis, the Thorn is LAMZU's first right-handed ergonomic design. A variant of the VAXEE Outset AX, the Thorn is a bit longer and maintains a lower profile. Internally, it comes with PixArt's PAW3395 sensor, along with RAESHA optical main button switches, whose main benefit is their inability to ever develop double clicking due to wear and tear, regardless of the set debounce time. Much like previous LAMZU mice, the Thorn does without a full bottom plate to achieve its low weight of 54 g. LAMZU cites a maximum battery life of up to 80 hours. The feet are made of pure PTFE, and a replacement set along with a set of grip tape are included in the box. Customization is possible in the software, which has all the usual options. The Thorn is available in black or white.

This review only covers the regular Thorn without the 4K dongle. For performance testing at 4000 Hz, please refer to the review of the LAMZU Atlantis 4K, as all results apply to the Thorn 4K as well.
