The Lian Li Lancool 3 seems to be their biggest case of that series so far. While the Lancool 2 was already a bulky chassis, this one bests it in every dimension. That added bulk is put to good use internally, though. With three positions for radiators where you could opt for three 360 mm units and a dedicated distribution plate, pump, or reservoir location, the Lancool 3 is an excellent choice for those wanting to build a potent custom loop. Best of all, doing so won't compromise the hardware choices you get to make.
Even when taking a closer look, there are a lot of engineering elements that make the Lancool 3 a versatile chassis, starting with that shroud cover you may move forward ever so slightly to enable up to 80 mm thick fan and radiator setups. Or that spring-loaded front fan/radiator frame to give you all the room you can get, once again with 80 mm of space. Then there are the two spring-loaded 2.5" drive trays as well. In other words, Lian Li put considerable attention to detail into nearly every aspect of the Lancool 3.
On the exterior, the chassis looks similar to the Lancool 2, but once again manages to be more intricate. The spring-loaded glass panel locking mechanism utilizing the two aluminium strips of the front cover is a very cool touch, while the fine metal mesh on the sides, front, and top makes a secondary protective layer redundant. And while it feels a little bit over-engineered, the ability to move the I/O panel to the bottom of the chassis is very cool and could be useful to some.
There is really a lot to love about the Lancool 3, and Lian Li has certainly managed some seriously functional, intricate tooling and design to make the case work the way it does. All that with four 140 mm retail-grade PWM fans and a competitive price point to boot should make it very enticing to a broad user base that enjoys larger enclosures, not just custom liquid-cooling enthusiasts.
