Assembly
We will install a full-width ATX board inside the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini, which requires the extension plate on four screws. It is really secure and aligns perfectly with its pre-installed spacers. Once the board is installed, you can clearly see that the chassis design is just high enough to hold such a format. The GPU naturally fits with plenty of room to spare, and because of the offset mounting bracket for the side fans/radiator, you will run into no issues when utilizing a 280 mm radiator with a long graphics card, either. On top of that, if you are using a water block for your CPU, the vertical GPU mount would allow you to go even fatter on a liquid-cooling setup on the side.
To install a 3.5" drive, simply take off the rear cover and pull one of the two metal drive trays out of the cage. They are extremely sturdy and also allow for 2.5" units to be installed.
To secure a 3.5" drive, clip it in place and slide the whole contraption back in where you found it. Once inserted, there is a sliding thumb-screw locking mechanism so it stays there, and you may easily put the rear cover back on as well.
Above that, we placed an SFX-L power supply with plenty of room and access for its cables. Thus, you can freely pick any SFX or SFX-L unit on the market.
Use the top of the distribution plate to add 2.5" SSDs. That means this is probably the last thing you will do as it also covers the cable-routing holes. Rubber-ringed screws are used to stick it to one of two spots—once filled, screw it down onto the frame of the case. There is an opening for data and power cables to reach the drive.
With everything installed, the interior of the Lian Li O11 Dynamic looks bare. This is mostly because our comparison system is based on air cooling, and all drives and the PSU are hidden behind the motherboard. The Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini will look great with lots of liquid cooling installed, and should absolutely shine in such a scenario as well. That said, the rear looks super clean as well because of the 2.5" bracket covering everything, so much so that a windowed panel would have been fine here, though it wouldn't make sense functionally as air vents are more important for this particular side.
Finished Looks
Once turned on, the compact Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini looks gorgeous. The blue LED around the power button is nice, and well-designed.
Just as through the main side panel, you can view the whole system through the front, and even though our review components are comparatively low key, they really do look spiffy!
