Installation

Since the fans come pre-installed you won't have to deal with that, but you will need to potentially swap out the mounting bracket based on your needs. Since I am installing the HyperFlow ARGB 240 on an AMD system first, that means I had to prepare the AMD mounting bracket by sliding it into place on the pump, before attaching the clips with two of the thumb screws, leaving them loose so you can slip the ends over the AMD motherboard brackets later on. Finally, the last preparational step is to add thermal paste if you have a preferred option, first cleaning off the pre-applied paste on the block. If you are installing the cooler straight out of the box as is, then Montech has you covered so you can skip this step.


Now position the pump block on the CPU and slip the mounting clips over the plastic tabs. Then tighten the thumb screws down alternating between the two for even pressure. With the pump block mounted you can then install the radiator and wire everything up which is quite easy since there is no ARGB fan hub or other USB connectors to deal with. All you need to do is connect the PWM pump header to CPU OPT header and the fans to the CPU fan header. After that, just plug the ARGB plug into the proper header on your motherboard and you are good to go.

Overall, the installation is pretty straightforward on AMD and Intel with no issues to speak of. While I would prefer four points of contact on the AMD mount for better pressure and stability the current implementation did work just fine.
