Montech is the house brand of Telon Co., Ltd., a Taiwanese company that has been around for over 30 years. Montech started out in the domestic market before slowly expanding overseas and this happened simultaneously with an aggressive marketing campaign that has resulted in several product reviews here on TechPowerUp already. These include cases, CPU coolers, fans, and today we are greeted by Montech's entry into the keyboard space with the aptly named MKey series.
Launched in May in time for Computex, the Montech MKey keyboard line has full-size and TKL (tenkeyless) form factors covered to please those who do not want a smaller form factor keyboard as has been the norm with so many keyboard releases lately. There are two color schemes for either size too, and Montech was kind enough to provide one of each color of the MKey TKL to TechPowerUp. The feature set seems solid with the use of a gasket mount design, south-facing LEDs, and the wheel at the top right corner that is more than just a volume wheel. Montech is even promising software support on top of extensive onboard controls, so let's take a closer look at the keyboard in this review which begins with a look at the product specifications in the table below.

Packaging and Accessories
Packaging for the Montech MKey TKL is colorful with a large logo adorning the front as a background while still retaining another logo, the company name, and the keyboard series identifier too. On the back we see product specs and salient marketing features whereas a sticker on the side confirms the exact SKU inside. This is how I also knew which one was which with the two colorways being named "Darkness" and "Freedom." Opening the box, we see the keyboard inside a wax paper wrap and with a hard plastic dust cover on top. It's placed between two pieces of thick foam for added protection and there is a quick start guide placed on top which goes over the various pre-programmed functions on the keyboard.
The other accessories are found in a separate compartment and includes a removable USB Type-A to Type-C cable, although note the housing on the Type-C connector being wider and specifically formed compared to usual. We also get a nice 2-in-1 metal wire keycap puller and switch remover tool which is Montech branded and also has notes to indicate which side is which if you are new to such tools. Lastly, there will be a set of replacement novelty keycaps that are themed around the Osaka Castle—the Osakajo Blue Skies set for the MKeys TKL Freedom and Osakajo Dark for the Darkness version. They share the space bar keycap and the others differ in the base color only. There's also a 1u replacement keycap with the Montech logo in the same colors.
