Board Software

Like with the past Z97 line-up, the MSI X99S GAMING 7 comes with a full suite of software to help you get the most or, in terms of power consumption, the least out of your system. MSI ECO Center is a great utility that allows you to disable all the ports you do not use, which maximizes power savings on this high-power platform. You have seen the rest of the software, Fast Boot and Killer Network Manager, if you purchased one of MSI's recent boards, or, perhaps, read one of my reviews. Fast Boot is great for getting right back into the BIOS after a quick re-start, as it only takes a couple clicks to do so.

There is software to update your BIOS and all the bundled software, the MSI GAMING APP for quick performance changes, and MSI's customized version of Intel's XTU, which deserves to be covered in a bit more depth.

MSI's version of Intel's XTU is fully-featured, so it can be used to completely monitor and tweak your hardware to even test stability afterward. There is a built-in benchmark for those HWBOT lovers out there, with XTU bench a favored new benchmark in the competitive OC scene.

You have access to other software with which to adjust audio settings, access Intel-specific utilities for PCH control, or enable super-charging for specific USB ports, so your devices can charge themselves up all that much faster. With all of that, what else could you want? The kitchen sink? You will not find THAT here. :P
