There is a large segment of the community that dislikes the trend towards RGB everything, and while I don't count myself among them, I understand where they are coming from. The Mushkin Redline is another installment into the RGB-free family of hardware, and I am all for it. Its old-school design had me reminisce of the bygone days when a PC wasn't fast unless it was black and red. The bold choice of color for the heat spreader will narrow down the possibilities when it comes to matching up a build, but the trade off will be worth it for many who are looking for a stand-out aesthetic without resorting to RGB LED lighting.

Looks aside, the Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz performed very well and proved quite stable. The sticks were perfectly stable at their XMP settings. When it came to overclocking, I found very little headroom in my testing. Of course, overclocking results vary; motherboard, CPU, and memory are all keys to the puzzle. Frankly, with the competitive price the Redline kit is boasting, I can't be too hard on these sticks for their overclocking results.

At around US$75, the Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz isn't the cheapest kit with this spec, but it isn't far off. While I am personally pretty fond of the trend towards flashy RGB LED components, I understand the appeal of simplicity and nostalgia for another hardware era. If you have been frustrated with the proliferation of RGB LEDs into the hardware market, the Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz DDR4 should be a breath of fresh air. If you are looking to create a bold old school build, the Mushkin Redline kits are an excellent choice.
