User Experience

My first reaction after the EPIC Compact had been assembled was one of shock—it looked as though it was made for kids. As such, I thought I should call in other people to try it out. Personally, being 163 (5.34 ft.) cm tall and weighing 67 kg (148 lb.), the it suited me just fine. That having been said, it has been designed for users who are 125–170 cm (4.1–5.6 ft.) tall and and at most weigh 120 kg (265 lb.). Surprisingly, 187 cm (6.13 ft.) tall users weighing over 90 kg (198.41 lb.) also found the EPIC Compact to be very comfortable even though the seat somewhat restricted their body shape. One such user mentioned that he felt the chair was very stable, not slippery, and that his posture was better than with larger chairs.

As some of the chair's adjustment options are flexible, such as moving the armrests further away from the seat, the EPIC Compact is capable of accommodating those taller than the stated maximum height at least. Tension and contact pressure can be adjusted as well, and having both follow the user's movement or locking the position of the backrest via lever is useful as well. Another lever adjusts the seat's depth, helping with having the thighs in a comfortable position. That said, if you haven't taken a look at the assembly manual, you will end up spending quite some time on assembly since how it is done differs from previous noblechairs gaming chairs. You will also need to figure out how to adjust the parameters mentioned above since the levers do differ in functionality from those on previous noblechairs.

The chair's padding comprised of deform-resistant cold foam will hold its shape for longer, and it being medium to hard is better for prolonged periods of use as well. With such a sportive look, "gaming" perfectly matches the EPIC Compact. The sports bucket design, cutouts on the headrest, and PU cover with stripes of color and carbon alike add to its "gaming" look. While as soft as I want them to be, the armrests could have been 4D instead at this price point. However, even so, these armrests did move clockwise and back/forth many times accidentally. All height adjustments are easily made due to the Safety Class 4 gas lift, and combined with the steel frame and five-star aluminium base, we have a sturdy construction easily capable of coping with the maximum weight-limit of 120 kg (265 lb.).

The two velour pillows with memory foam are cozy and add extra, optional support for the neck and pelvis areas. The larger of the two pillows is for the pelvis area and has two different sides to better suit individual needs, and both pillows are easily removable if you would rather not use them. The casters have proven their worth with previous noblechairs gaming chairs and feel smooth, while quietly rolling across all surfaces.
