Packaging & Contents

The Noctua NH-U12P heatsink comes in a full-color box that reflects Noctua's current design. There are features and specifications listed on the outside of the package, and some additional information on the mounting systems and the NF-P12 fan included with the heatsink.

Noctua has a uniquely designed instruction manual included with the NH-U12P. It is essentially a cardboard folder, with two fold-out sections: the left is for AM2 and AM2+, and the right is for LGA775. This makes it less confusing for the first-time installer who might feel overwhelmed with installation directions.

Inside the package is a small box with three plastic bags full of mounting hardware and a long L-shaped screwdriver. Each bag is labeled to denote what hardware is inside, and the bags are resealable. The first bag contains AM2/AM2+ hardware, and the second has parts for LGA775. The third bag contains common hardware for both installations, four fan clips, two "Ultra Low-Noise Adapters" and a syringe of the new NT-H1 thermal compound.

The heatsink itself is protected during shipping by a cardboard shell that opens easily. The included NF-P12 fan is located in the front opening, which shows through the clear window in the outside box.
