No Man's Sky


With its pre-launch hype-train rolling along the Trans-Siberian rail line, "No Man's Sky" deserves credit for what it's hoping to achieve: practically limitless content through procedural generation. In this space-sim, you get to visit billions of worlds, each uniquely different from others.

Based on an in-house game engine by Hello Games, which uses complex algorithms to generate content with surprising amount of variety, the game takes advantage of OpenGL and is moderately taxing on modern hardware.
