ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB OC

Packaging & Contents

The ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB GDDR6X OC Edition ships in a full-color, NVIDIA co-branded package with an image of the unit in the front and ton of extra details on the back. Much like most ASUS GPUs, it ships inside a black box with a foam inlay, so you can rest assured it will arrive safe and sound.

ASUS also includes a few interesting extras in the form of a GPU support beam, Velcro strips as well as a PCIe to 12VHPWR adapter in case you have a potent, high-quality PSU which simply isn't ATX 3.0. A few manuals and paperwork are also included on top of a playing card for the GPU—something that ASUS likes to do in general—and a little cardboard stand which you may build yourself to put on your desk.

A Closer Look

Out of the box, ASUS has protected all surfaces with plastic film, which you get the satisfaction of peeling off. The card comes with clean curved edges, all metal covers and a black heatsink within. The ProArt Series from ASUS represents a range of products which are clearly geared towards the professional user, so you won't find ARGB lights or flashy designs. Instead, everything in ProArt is clean and understated with a solid mix of materials. The ProArt RTX 4080 SUPER OC fits that to a tee.

The main reason why this GPU is one of those few 4080 Super SKUs included in the SFF initiative from NVIDIA is simply the fact that it is still compact enough to check off all clearances with a size of 120 x 300 x 50 mm. It comes equipped with three fans with ProArt / ASUS branding, with that design continuing on the backside, where you will find a metal backplate.

Laying the GPU flat, it becomes clear that this card offers something that most other GeForce RTX 4080 Super cards do not: it is almost a 2-slot GPU. The fact that you can rely on NVIDIA's dimensions means you won't have to sweat the small stuff - for example that we had to use the word "almost" in that previous sentence. Viewing the ports, you can also see that it is wider than the expansion slots, which is another dimension where cards using this chip can vary greatly. In the rear, you can also find the same mounting holes as in the Founders Edition, allowing you to secure the card if your chassis supports it.

The branding on the ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER OC Edition is all gold, which includes the GeForce RTX elements as well as all the ProArt visuals. A cool design element is the fact that opening for the heatsink is also part of the "Pro" from ProArt.
