Software Installation:

The software installation is quite straightforward. You are asked to connect the mouse, in case you have not done so beforehand, after which the installation will continue. No real surprises during the installation, which is quick and painless.

Once the installation is complete, Vista displays a system message (in my case German, as it comes from the OS, not the installer), asking you if you want to trust the new driver source. It mentions NZXT as the name and Sagatek Co. LTD. as the issuer of the software. Remember these are pre-release drivers we are using, that is why you are seeing this company name here. Sagatek Co. LTD is the company behind the driver itself. NZXT does not have an in-house software development team for drivers, so that is why they went to the best one out there. These guys are also making the drivers for Razer and Ideazon. Finally, you are asked to restart your PC for the changes to take effect. After doing so, the application is accessible in the system tray.

The software consists of three panels. The first being called "Advanced Functions". This is where you can change the function of each button. There is a list of available base functions and an "Advanced" option as well. This opens a small window in which you can either hit a single key to assign that function to a mouse button or create a macro for it.
The maximum length are 20 key presses, with the key press and release each counting seperately. You may also edit the scroll wheel functionality, select one of three DPI settings here and save the entire profile on your PC. You may have five different profiles at once.

The next area is called "Sensitivity". Here, you may change the sensitivity of the X and Y axis seperately. The bottom part gives you access to the mouse pointer speed and acceleration. The last tab is called "Advanced Settings". Here you may set your preferred scroll & double click speed. You may also change the sensitivity here as well. This function is described as "This changes the speed at which the pointer moves". It seems a bit confusing, as I thought that this part was covered in the "Sensitivity" tab.
