For very long, NZXT seemed to focused solely on the Phantom series, trying to repeat its success over and over again with new models it added to the series. As such, all other NZXT cases did not seem to be getting the attention during their development process to really become the next big thing. With the recent H series, NZXT has shown that they still have it in them to innovate and push the envelope, and the Source 340 may just be their weapon to get back into the game for good.
With a price tag of 70 US dollars, two good quality fans, and a great choice of materials, the Source 340 feels great in terms of quality. Sure, you have to make some sacrifices as there are fewer HDD bays than in a traditional case or no spot for an external drive bay, but those drawbacks are no deal breakers in the digital age of streaming things.
While the interior of the chassis is refreshingly modern and functional, it is also a bit simple to keep the price down, so you won't find things like rails for hard drives, or have to make do with a basic dust filter for the PSU.
The NZXT Source 340 is ultimately a great chassis for a great price and a tour de force: NZXT is still here, and they still got what it takes. So I will be eager to see what else they have up their sleeve for 2015.
